May. 16 24

The day was mostly cloudy, wet, and warm. I believe the sky looked to be mostly cloudy, during the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. It felt warm, during the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. The wind speeds were light with moderate and moderately strong gusts, during the morning, afternoon, and night. The wind speeds were strong with 50 mph + gusts, during the derecho that passed through the Houston, TX area, during the evening. The day was mostly normal with little to no light shower activity until during the evening when a line of heavy thunderstorms passed through the Houston, TX area producing multiple power outages and damage from at least two tornados and 50 to 100 mph wind gusts. The house that I live in lost power and one of the lights outside of our garage. There were trees and power lines down everywhere.

Thoughts: This was the most dramatic storm that I have ever been in the Houston, TX area. Outside of a tropical storm or hurricane. We were all not prepared for this.

Locations: Montrose, Copperfield, Northwest, and West Houston, TX.
