Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1133 PM CST Sun Feb 25 2018

.NEAR TERM [Through Today]...

Visibility has dropped to a quarter of a mile in some areas from
College Station towards Huntsville. Dense fog advisory will be
issued until 10AM for these areas and likely expanded during the
morning hours as conditions warrant.

&&

.AVIATION [06Z TAF Issuance]...

Night time microphysics RGB and fog imagery shows low clouds and
fog covering much of SE Texas once the high clouds moved east.
IFR/LIFR conditions are likely the next 6 to 12 hours with low
ceilings. There may be some dense fog for KCLL/KUTS/KCXO to
contend with through the morning hours. Visibility still could
drop for the Houston area terminals with 1-2 SM possible with some
intermittent times of less than a mile. Conditions should improve
15-18Z Monday with VFR for the afternoon. Return flow cranks up
again overnight so expect lowering ceilings going into Tuesday
morning.

.PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 934 PM CST Sun Feb 25 2018/...

The front has finally pushed just off the coast with a few
showers lingering over the southeastern portion of the area. These
showers should continue to move off to the east over the next
several hours, with a quiet night expected across the area.

River flooding is ongoing across parts of the area this evening
with quite a few river flood warnings currently in effect
primarily along the Spring Creek, San Jacinto, and Trinity
watersheds. For the most part only minor flooding is expected,
with the exceptions being moderate flooding forecast for Menard
Creek at Rye and moderate (possibly major) flooding forecast for
Peach Creek at Splendora. Additional flood warning are possible
later this week on the Trinity as routed water works its way down
from upstream.
