000 FXUS64 KHGX 130527 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 1127 PM CST Thu Nov 12 2020 .AVIATION... There is an increasing risk of IFR/LIFR ceilings and/or visibilities to develop overnight (already seeing it across parts of the coastal counties and gradually working its way inland), so have gone ahead and indicated this trend on the 06Z TAFs. Gradually improving conditions can be expected tomorrow morning, and most sites should be VFR in the afternoon. Deteriorating conditions look possible again tomorrow night and on into Saturday morning. Might see some SHRA development through the TAF period. Light winds tonight becoming SE 5-10 knots tomorrow afternoon. 42 && .PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 533 PM CST Thu Nov 12 2020/ SHORT TERM [Tonight and Tomorrow]... The return of light onshore winds today will help with the possible development of patchy fog across SE TX tonight...with the best/more favorable locations being over our W/SW counties. Visibilities will be lowest from overnight through early tomorrow morning...improving by mid/late tomorrow morning. Some very isolated WAA showers may be possible as well...mainly for our coastal waters/counties to the SW. Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s far inland on one side of the warm front to the mid/ upper 60s on the other side closer to the coast. For tomorrow, the best rain chances will remain our our SW CWA (at/ around Matagorda Bay) where slightly deeper moisture will be trying to intrude from the Gulf. Over the eastern parts of the CWA, we may be seeing some slightly drier air move in as a weak cool front back doors in from the E/NE. At any rate, rain chances should remain low to nil for the majority of the CWA tomorrow. Temperatures will also stay on the above normal side...highs tomorrow should be in the low to mid 80s. 41 MARINE... Northeast winds will veer more easterly this evening. As we find ourselves between exiting high pressure to the east and developing low pressure to the west, southeast to south flow should be expected Friday, Saturday, and the early part of Sunday. A cold front will cross the coastal waters on Sunday, later in the day or Sunday night. Stronger northeast winds should develop in the wake of the front Sunday night into Monday, eventually diminishing as we head deeper into the week. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
