Summary: Thin and whispery alto stratus clouds looked to be widely scattered across the sky, at my house in Copperfield, TX, during the morning. The sky became mostly clear with only a few whispery alto stratus clouds, sometime during the afternoon and stayed that way through the night. The wind speeds were calm with some moderately strong gusts. A line of light to moderate and possibly moderately heavy showers may have passed through the Houston, TX area, as a cool front was passing through, during the early morning. I did not see, or hear any rain drops, where I was, during anytime of the day. It felt really cool, almost cold, during the early and mid-morning, after the cool front passed through. It felt cool, during the late morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
Thoughts: I am starting to feel like I live in California with all of this dry air and no rain....
Area Forecast Discussion

218 FXUS64 KHGX 152322 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 522 PM CST Sun Nov 15 2020 .AVIATION [00Z TAF Issuance]... Clear skies will dominate the period as drier air continues to filter in. Therefore, VFR conditions will prevail through the period at all terminals. North winds will weaken this evening to 6 kts or less with the exception of KGLS where winds will remain near 10-15 kts. A wind shift to the NE, then E is expected Monday morning into the afternoon as the surface high pressure, currently over north- central TX, moves eastward into the region. && .PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 349 PM CST Sun Nov 15 2020/... .SHORT TERM [Tonight Through Monday]... With the departure of this morning`s surface cold front, we now enter into a period of cooler, drier, and generally pleasant weather that should continue well into the upcoming week. As the surface pressure gradient continues to relax in the wake of the departing boundary, winds should continue to diminish overnight and gradually shift to the northeast as an area of surface high pressure pushes into central TX. Look for overnight lows around 15 degrees lower than yesterday across the board, with some portions of the northern counties potentially even seeing the high 30s just before sunrise tomorrow. While these temperatures may seem favorable for a backyard bonfire, this would not be advisable as dew points in the 20s-30s and occasionally gusty winds will continue to create hazardous fire conditions overnight (see Fire Wx section below for details). Expect clear, dry, and comfortable weather to continue into tomorrow, with most of SE Texas not expected to reach much higher than 70 degrees...a perfect afternoon for a stroll in the park appears to be in store! Cady .LONG TERM [Monday Night Through Sunday]... Nearly chamber of commerce weather this week with high pressure dominating and keeping it pleasant. Mild to warm afternoons with cool nights through Thursday. Moisture will then begin to increase as southeasterly flow develops and strengthens into the weekend. Rain chances look to increase Sunday with 20-30 percent chances as a cold front approaches. The front should arrive Sunday night or more likely Monday. Colder air looks to be arriving from Canada or at least clipping the area with the front. 45 .MARINE... As this morning`s cold frontal boundary continues to push offshore, winds and wave heights will continue to decrease overnight. The Small Craft Advisory for the bays has been replaced with a caution, and advisories for the nearshore and offshore waters should be allowed to expire overnight as winds decrease to around 15 knots. As surface high pressure pushes into central TX, east to northeasterly winds will develop by tomorrow morning, generally remaining at or below 15 knots. By the end of the week, look for a more southeasterly flow as this feature shifts further eastward. Cady .FIRE WEATHER... Very dry and breezy conditions this afternoon will give way as ridging builds in and winds relax. Only moderate recovery expected overnight with RH just climbing back up to 60-80 percent. The very dry air remains in place over the area Monday and Tuesday though with much less wind. During the day Monday expect mostly east and northeast winds of 3-10 mph probably become more variable by late afternoon. RH values bottom out at 18-25 percent over most of the inland areas Monday and Tuesday then rise slightly Wednesday. 45 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
