Near Cypress, TX, during the early night.


Summary: The day was hot, mostly cloudy, and sunny. Light to moderate isolated showers and moderately heavy to heavy isolated thunderstorms started to pop up in and around the Houston, TX area, sometime during the afternoon and stayed around through the early night. I saw some distant lightning strikes and heard some distant thunder from a few of the thunderstorms. Along with some light rain, during the late evening and early night. The sky looked to be mostly clear, during the early morning. Stratus and stratocumulus clouds looked to cover most of the sky, during the mid and late morning, afternoon, evening, and maybe night. There looked to be some nimbus clouds, during the evening. The wind speeds looked to be calm with some gentle to moderate gusts, especially during the evening, when the thunderstorms started to roll through. It felt warm during the early morning, late evening, and night. It started to feel hot, during the mid-morning. It felt hot, during the late morning. It felt very hot, during the afternoon. It felt very warm, during the early evening. There were no watches, warnings, alerts, advisories, or weather statements/outlooks issued for the Houston, TX area, that I know of. The low temps looked to be in the 70's and the high temps looked to be in the low to mid 90's, for most of the Houston, TX area.


Storm Summary: I didn't hear of any flooding, or damage reports.


My Storm Summary: I saw a cloud to ground lightning strike, from a thunderstorm in Cypress, TX and I also saw some light rain in north Houston, TX, during the Late evening. I also saw some light drizzle near Cypress, TX, during the early night. I didn't see, or witness any flooding, or damages. Just some wet roads and small puddles, that's all.


Locations: Northwest and north Houston, TX and the Galleria in Houston, TX, Tomball, TX, Spring, TX, and maybe the Woodlands, TX.


Thoughts: Some more rain chances on the way in Houston, TX. And then some more hot summery days after that.
