Sep. 8 20

Eldridge and West Little York, during the early morning, on my way to work.

White, grey to blue, stratus clouds looked to cover most of and sometimes all of the sky, during the morning, afternoon, evening, and night, where I was in northwest, west, and the heights area of Houston, TX, and where I was in Katy, TX. I drove through a moderately heavy shower on my way to work, once I got on I-10 west and the Beltway on through to the heights area where I work. Light rain continued to fall off and on on at my work in the heights area, during the early and mid-morning. The light rain had stopped during the late morning. It had started to drizzle off and on during the afternoon, at my job in the heights area, during the afternoon and early evening. I past through some brief light rain on I-10 west driving towards Katy, TX, during the early evening. I do not remember seeing any more raindrops after that. I did not hear any thunder or see any lightning. The day was warm.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1019 PM CDT Tue Sep 8 2020

.DISCUSSION...
No significant changes made for the update other than to add some
lowish POPs across the southern half of the area overnight to
account for some WAA shra. Similar to today, it looks like we
should see some precip development off to our west later tonight
moving ene with a disturbance embedded in the mid/upper flow. 47

AVIATION [00Z TAF Issuance]...
Did keep the mentions of VCSH in for most sites through the next
couple of hours as the activity from this afternoon continues to
slowly move across the CWA (SW to NE) and weakens. Will be expect-
ing all/most of this activity to dissipate this evening given the
loss of daytime heating. For the most part, VFR conditions should
prevail overnight, but given the wet grounds and decreased winds,
some brief patchy fog will be possible (especially for sites over
our northern counties). Will also have to keep an eye to the W/NW
where a few of the models are indicating the arrival/passage of a
possibly strong vort max overnight/very early Weds morning. Other-
wise, the wet/messy forecast of late should persist into tomorrow
with scattered SHRAs/TSRAs developing in the high PW airmass over
the region. 41
