Sep. 9 20

White, blue, and grey status clouds looked to cover most of the sky, during the early and mid-morning and mid-afternoon, and evening. Mid, white stratus clouds looked to be scattered across the sky, during the late morning and early afternoon. High, white with maybe some blue and grey stratus clouds looked to be scattered across the sky, during the night. Moderate to moderately heavy rain was falling on my way to work, starting from I-10 and Beltway 8 all the way into the Heights area of Houston, TX, during the early morning. On and off light to moderate rain was falling, while I was at work in the Heights, during the mid-morning. A huge thunderstorm brought moderate to moderately heavy and sometimes heavy to really heavy rain from 4 pm to 5 pm, while I was at work in the Heights. I drove through some more light to moderate rain on my way to meet at foster on Highway 6 and 290, at around 6 pm. I did not see any more rain after that. The day was warm and wet. It felt a little cool, during the early morning, at my house in Northwest Houston, TX. I almost felt like I wanted to wear a sweater or long sleeve shirt.

AVIATION [00Z TAF Issuance]...

This afternoon`s activity will continue to decrease through the
next hour or so with the loss of daytime heating. In its wake...
we should begin to see winds shift to the NNW across SE TX this
evening/overnight. This cooler shallow air mass filtering down/
across the region will also bring with it MVFR/IFR CIGS to most
of the CWA tonight through early tomorrow morning. Did keep the
mention of VCSH in for some sites as near-term models are show-
ing another round of activity during the afternoon. This may be
in response to another short-wave moving in from the W/SW along
with daytime heating. 41
