.DISCUSSION...

SHORT TERM [Tonight Through Monday Night]...

Still seeing some cirrus cloud cover along the coastline, which is
occurring along the northern portions of the upper level jet axis.
The cirrus is gradually shifting offshore with the jet. Also
seeing a few high based cu across northern portions of the area,
driven by daytime heating.

A cold night is on tap with min temps in the upper 30s well inland
and near 50 along the coast. Max temps tomorrow will be similar to
today, reaching the low to mid 60s with ample sunshine. On Monday
night temps will also be similar to tonight, possibly a degree or
two warmer.

LONG TERM [Tuesday Through Sunday]...

With surface high pressure expected to move east and across Texas
over the next few days, it will bring with it the return of onshore
winds by Thursday. This will lead to a gradual increase in cloud
coverage and humidity along with a warming trend with high temps
reaching the low to mid 70s and dewpoints reaching the mid 60s on
Thursday and Friday.

Model guidance between the GFS and ECMWF are in agreeance with a
longwave trough/cold front pushing through SE TX early Friday and
leaving our area early Saturday. It should push through rather
quickly without any lingering precipitation, so POPs remain less
than 10 percent Saturday afternoon and onwards in the wake of this
front. The best chance for thunderstorms remains in our northernmost
and easternmost counties with rainfall accumulations reaching up to
a few tenths of an inch for the northernmost counties and a few
hundredths of an inch everywhere else. In the wake of this front,
high temps should drop back to a more seasonal average in the low
60s and dewpoints should drop back into the 40s.

KBL

MARINE...

W/NW flow will increase this evening as a cold front moves across
the marine area. Winds will gradually become more northerly
overnight. Caution conditions are expected tonight with 15-20 KT
winds across the offshore waters. Winds will subside again on
Monday aft/eve as the surface high drifts overhead. Onshore flow
will return early Thursday as the next storm system approaches.
Wind speeds will increase Thurs afternoon and evening to near
SCEC/SCA criterion. There will be a chance of showers and storms
ahead of and near a cold front which will push off the coast late
Fri night/early Sat with moderate offshore flow in its wake.
