000 FXUS64 KHGX 290218 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 818 PM CST Tue Nov 28 2017 .DISCUSSION... At 8pm, a cool front was slowly making its way thru ncntl Tx. This weak boundary and associated slightly drier air probably won`t begin making its way across the area until Wednesday morning. Winds has gone light ahead of this feature. This combined with the mclear skies & higher sfc dewpoints point towards some fog development across the region. T/Td spreads have already narrowed to within 5 degrees at most locations, so it probably won`t be too long before we start seeing that happen. Guidance suggests some dense fog is a possibility overnight, even in northern reaches of the bays, into the mid morning hours Wed. So the morning commute may be impacted by that. Can`t totally rule out some isolated showers mainly across extreme eastern parts of the CWA in association with a narrow tongue of higher PW`s situated there. Otherwise, it looks like a mostly uneventful & dry forecast thru the weekend into early next week. Look for another weak reinforcing front/airmass to filter into the area Thurs, but even that probably won`t be enough to drop temps back to climatological norms (mid 40s/mid 60s). Onshore winds resume by early next week as high pressure moves off to the east. Though subtle model differences remain in regards to the extended part of the forecast, it appears we`ll eventually get into a messier southwest flow aloft as an upper low drops down the west coast into ncntrl Mexico toward midweek. Rain chances should increase next Wed-Fri depending on its eastward progression. 47 && .PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 610 PM CST Tue Nov 28 2017/ AVIATION... Slightly deeper moisture over the eastern half of the CWFA along with light winds/mostly clear skies will make for very favorable conditions for fog development overnight. Did not make any major changes with the previous TAFS for tonight given the expectation of IFR conditions developing around sunrise. A weak front should move into the area early Weds morning...bringing with it slightly drier/cooler air by mid/late Weds morning. VFR conditions are expected by the afternoon on into tomorrow night. 41 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
