URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
321 PM CST Mon Jan 1 2018

...Hard Freeze Expected For Much of Southeast Texas Monday and
Tuesday Nights...

.The significant cold snap enveloping Southeast Texas continues.
Hard freeze conditions are expected as far south as the general
vicinity of Interstate 10 both tonight and tomorrow night. Though
temperatures will rise into the 30s on Tuesday, most of the warned
area will struggle to rise above freezing, and so the warning is
extended through both nights to indicate the prolonged nature of
the cold snap. Cold weather will continue later into the week, but
a smaller area will require a hard freeze warning in following
nights.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 10 AM CST TUESDAY...

* EVENT...Wind chill factors falling to as low as 10 to 15
degrees. Isolated locations could see wind chills briefly in the

* IMPACT...A wind chill advisory signals significantly lower wind
chill values than are typically seen in Southeast Texas. People
who spend time outdoors for extended periods with exposed skin
can become vulnerable to frostbite. Additionally, the cold
temperatures create a threat for hypothermia in those who are
not dressed warmly enough to keep their core temperature at a
  safe level.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors...make sure you wear a hat and
