Summary: The day was hot, sunny, and dry. Some isolated moderately heavy to really heavy showers and thunderstorms in the Houston, TX area, during the morning, afternoon, evening, and maybe night. There looked to be some isolated moderately heavy to heavy and maybe really heavy, showers and thunderstorms in the Woodlands, TX area, during the evening. I was told that there was fog in the early morning, in the Woodlands, TX area. I don't know if there was any fog in the Houston, TX area. I didn't see, feel, or hear any rain drops, or see any fog. Alto stratus, stratus and stratocumulus clouds looked to be scattered across the sky, during the early and mid-morning. The sky looked to be clear, or maybe mostly clear, during the late evening and early night. The wind speeds looked to be calm with maybe some gentle to moderate gusts and maybe some moderately strong gusts. It felt warm, during the early morning and night. It felt very warm, almost hot, during the mid-morning. It felt hot, during the late morning, afternoon, and early evening. It started to feel warm, from feeling hot, during the late evening. There were no watches, warnings, alerts, advisories, or weather statements/outlooks issued for the Houston, TX area, that I know of. The low temps looked to be in the 70's and the high temps looked to be in the 90's, for the Houston, TX area.

I also heard that there was some fog in the Woodlands, TX area, during the early morning. I didn't hear about any flooding, or storm damages. There are still roads closed because of Harvey in the Houston, TX area. I do not know if these closed roads still have water covering them.
My Storm Summary: I didn't see, feel, or hear any rain drops. I didn't see any storm clouds, wet roads, flooding, or lightning strikes. I didn't hear any rumbles of thunder. I may have seen a few small puddles of water on the sides of streets, but I don't remember. I did see a Animal Hospital that looked to be closed because of Harvey, in northwest Houston, TX, on my way to The Woodlands, TX.

Thoughts: It felt pretty hot today. The pool water actually felt nice, even though the thermometer only read 82 degrees. Which can sometimes feel really cool in a pool. 85 degrees is the ideal warm temperature in a swimming pool.

Quick update to clear out skies and lower pops overnight. && .AVIATION... Skies clearing out rapidly and expect winds to decouple at most sites by 06z. Patchy fog a good bet at the rural sites and may see some MIFG at IAH. By 13-14z skies become CU filed with SCT possibly BKN VFR CIGS for a few hours 14-16z. Narrow band of moisture lingers along the I-10 corridor and could get a few showers or even a thunderstorm but coverage looks less than today with subsidence increasing on northeasterly flow aloft edging down over the region. Will hold off on VCSH/VCTS as expectation for coverage is so low. 45 && .PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 335 PM CDT Fri Sep 22 2017/ DISCUSSION... Best shower/thunderstorm coverage so far today has been in/around the Matagorda Bay and Jackson County areas where the highest moisture levels have been found. Isolated to widely scattered storm development is still possible across the rest of our area over the next several hours (peak heating) with all activity expected to dissipate early this evening. The area still looks to be on the warm and dry side over the weekend with only spotty mainly daytime shower/thunderstorm development anticipated. Models are generally trending next week`s increasing rain chances associated with an approaching storm system and accompanying cold front to be setting up across the western and central parts of the state as weak mid/upper level ridging centered out in the Gulf tries to be a player for our area. Once the ridging breaks and we do get the front on through, look for some drier and slightly cooler weather to eventually work its way into our area. 42 MARINE... Light to moderate onshore winds, seas around 2 to 3 feet, and periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected across the waters this weekend and into next week. A cold front may push off the coast late in the week next week. Tides continue to run about 0.5 to 1 foot above normal but should remain below any critical thresholds for impacts.
