DISCUSSION...
Low temperatures dropped into the 50s this morning as far south as
northwestern Harris County and southern Waller County. This has
been a refreshing change from the hot and muggy weather typical
this time of year. A surface high pressure ridge axis will remain
to our north over the forecast period keeping light northerly flow
across southeast Texas and allowing for only a gradual warming
trend into the middle of next week. The only break in the warm up
may come Monday and Tuesday as northerly flow briefly increases,
dropping temps a degree or two. Relatively low dewpoints should
also keep the forecast dry the next seven days with the possible
exception of a stray shower in the offshore waters. Hennig

&&

MARINE...
High pressure over Texas will maintain moderate offshore winds
(mainly northeast through the end of the week and the weekend,
then north Monday through Tuesday). Seas will be elevated too,
especially across the offshore waters. Currently carrying caution
flags through tomorrow morning, but would not be surprised if we
occasionally flirt with advisory criteria through the period. 42

TROPICAL...
Hurricane Katia has shown little movement in the Bay of Campeche.
That should change tonight or early tomorrow as it begins moving
southwest towards the Mexican coast. It is not expected to have
any effects on the upper Texas coast. Hennig
